FC Baguettes Snatch Last-Minute Victory Against Shanghai Vikings Black

After just two matchdays, the Chinese National Holiday brought the league to an early halt. One month after their season opener, FC Baguettes finally returned to action for Matchday 3, facing Shanghai Vikings Black, a side still looking to recover from a heavy 4–0 defeat in their previous encounter.

With a particularly strong lineup, the Baguettes entered the match determined to secure their first victory of the season. But the Vikings had other plans.

From the opening whistle, the battle was fierce. Physical challenges, intense duels and relentless pressure defined a hard-fought contest, with both teams pushing the limits while keeping their tackles fair. Despite the physicality, the game remained wide open, with chances flowing at both ends.

The French defenders had their hands full containing the Vikings’ attacks, while the Baguettes’ forwards grew increasingly frustrated by their inability to find the breakthrough.

At halftime, the scoreboard remained locked at 0–0.

The second half brought more of the same: intensity, uncertainty and plenty of opportunities. Shanghai Vikings came dangerously close to taking the lead, but goalkeeper Matthieu Richard was in outstanding form, producing crucial saves to keep the Baguettes alive.

As the clock ticked down, the match seemed destined for a goalless draw.

Then came the 48th minute.

A brilliant three-man combination involving Anthony, Mickael and Hicham finally unlocked the Vikings’ defense. Hicham applied the finishing touch, sending the ball into the back of the net and unleashing celebrations among the French side. 1–0!

With just two minutes remaining, the Baguettes had one final mission: hold on.

And they did.

The final whistle confirmed a precious 1–0 victory, FC Baguettes’ first win of the season, earned through determination, defensive resilience and a moment of attacking brilliance.

Three points, a clean sheet, and a dramatic late winner. The Baguettes are finally up and running!
